On Monday we received notification from the General Council of Winnipeg Community Centres stating that Manitoba Health has told them the responsibility of enforcing all COVID-19 rules is being left to the community centres and their boards.
Unfortunately, this creates a huge responsibility for our board and club volunteers and means we could be fined thousands of dollars if rules are broken by anyone using our rinks. We feel strongly that this is an unfair burden on our club and clubs around the city that are almost entirely volunteer run.
Until we find a solution to this, we cannot open our rinks.
