Child Care Alternatives

We understand that our closure, which shut-down our child care programs, has made things difficult for some parents. Here is some information for parents who may be looking for alternative child care while we await the opportunity to open our doors again.

Child Care Providers

Manitoba child care providers continue to deliver important services to help meet the needs of children and families during COVID-19. We need more heroes to help our heroes.

All Manitobans returning to work are now eligible to access the temporary child care system to find a location that meets their needs. Please review the information sent to your facility on how to update the number of spaces you have available and other important information.

Licensed child care centres, including facilities in schools, can continue to provide care for up to 16 children. Larger centres with separate rooms and external entrances can accommodate up to 16 children per room.  Home-based child care providers can also continue to operate with up to eight children.

Please note: Temporary licensed child care remains in effect to support the COVID-19 pandemic response. If your previous child care space is not currently available, the online tool offers information about other spaces that you may be able to access. If you are planning for regular permanent child care, please continue to use the Online Child Care Registry.
